Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS), Indore, is a government-aided autonomous engineering institute established in 1952, originally known as Shri Govindram Seksaria Kala Bhavan. It was set up following the wish expressed by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for a world-class technical centre in Central India. AICTE and UGC granted the institute autonomous status in 1989, and under this status it is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal. The campus is located on Park Road close to Indore railway station and covers about 35 acres. The institute is accredited with NAAC A grade and several of its programmes are NBA accredited. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in engineering, pharmacy, management and applied sciences, and is widely regarded as one of the leading engineering institutes in Madhya Pradesh and the western region.
