About

Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) is an Institute of National Importance established in 2009 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, as one of the second-generation IITs. It began functioning from a temporary campus at IET-DAVV under the mentorship of IIT Bombay and moved to its permanent campus at Simrol, on Khandwa Road, in February 2016. The campus covers about 501 acres and houses academic blocks, research laboratories, a Learning Resource Centre, hostels, sports facilities and incubation centres including Drishti CPS Foundation and ACE Foundation. Academic work is organised across departments, schools and centres spanning engineering, science, design and humanities. The institute was ranked 12th in Engineering and 27th Overall in NIRF 2025, and has a substantial research output with major national grants including the ANRF PAIR Hub SAKSHAM and an NM-ICPS Technology Translation Research Park.
