Malwanchal University is a private university in Indore established in 2016 under a Madhya Pradesh state Act. Its origins go back to 2007, when the Index group of medical educational institutions was set up on the Nemawar Road corridor near Khudel, and the campus today extends over about 65 acres with more than 500 faculty members. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. It functions as the parent university for the Index group of health sciences colleges, including Index Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Index Institute of Dental Sciences, Index Nursing College and allied paramedical institutions. Programmes span MBBS and postgraduate MD/MS, BDS and MDS in dentistry, nursing degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level, pharmacy, physiotherapy and allied health sciences. Admission to medical and dental courses runs through NEET followed by Madhya Pradesh state counselling conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education or MCC All India Quota counselling.
