College of Agriculture, Indore is a constituent college of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (RVSKVV), Gwalior, and is located on Old Sehore Road at Lalaram Nagar near St. Paul School. Its roots go back to 1924, when the Institute of Plant Industry was established at Indore to strengthen agricultural production and research. Scientists of international standing, including Sir Albert Howard, worked at the institute, and the Indore Method of Composting developed here gained worldwide recognition; Mahatma Gandhi visited the institute to observe the work. Today the college offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in agricultural sciences, including B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture, M.Sc Agriculture across disciplines such as Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, Plant Pathology, Entomology and Agricultural Economics, and PhD programmes. Admission to the UG programme is through the Madhya Pradesh Pre-Agriculture Test conducted by MP Vyapam, and being a state government institution, fees are considerably lower than at private agricultural colleges. The campus includes research farms, laboratories, a library and hostel facilities.
