Islamia Karimia College, commonly known as I.K. College, is a private college in Indore whose foundation was laid in 1962 by Dr. Zakir Hussain, then Vice-President of India. It is run by the Islamia Karimia Society, an education body with a history stretching back over a century. The college is affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and is recognised by the University Grants Commission. Its campus is at a central location in the Palasia area of Indore. The college runs undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across Arts, Commerce, Science and Computer Applications, including BA in History, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Hindi Literature and English Literature, B.Sc in Computer Science, Biology, Microbiology and Mathematics, B.Com, M.Sc in Mathematics and Chemistry, MA in Urdu and a PGDCA diploma. The college also introduced vocational courses in Computer Maintenance, Computer Application and Electronic Equipment Maintenance within its B.Sc and B.Com streams, making it an early adopter of applied computer education in the region.
